I’ve now launched my latest Kickstarter Project for my new book, The Beyond, a follow-up to my 2016 book 1001 Climbing Tips (this one is both more general and far more nerdy and granular).
When I did my first book, Me, Myself & I, I sold a PDF version, much cheaper than the print version (which is actually daft, as the actual value/work is in the text/images, not the material format). What I found out was someone would buy a copy of the PDF and give a copy to three or four friends, who were looking for the niche info I’d written about (potential customers), who would each then give it to three or four people they knew needed the info, and so on, until the book, a years work, was running free around the internet. Once it’s out there, it’s gone. This is why Dave MacLeod doesn’t do e-books. Sticking to the protected Kindle format does help to reduce this problem, but I just can’t afford to have normal ePub or PDF files anymore; plus, print books are so much nicer!
Is ebook version missing on pledges page on purpose?

No problem, totally understandable. Will wait for Kindle version in Amazon. I prefer ebooks because space is premium when living in a van.
