Hi Yann, If your harness has one of those little adjustable tabs that secure the leg loops in position on the belay loop (many are now fixed), or a sling/quick-draw, catches on the teeth of the micro traxion, it can pull it off the rope and lock it back in position, meaning the rope is now free to move. This has happened to me twice, and although if you're climbing with two traxitions it's just something to be aware of, if only one (which I see lots of people doing), it's a terminal kind of failure.
I'm still waiting for it to kill me
Hope you don’t mind Andy
I posted the notes onto Yann’s group page
( I am also a big fan of his posts)
Hi Andy! Why do you say toothed devices like the Petzl Micro Traxion are "more dangerous"? Petzl and I are in line here advising toothed devices for top rope soloing see: https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/Appendix-1--Petzl-does-not-recommend-using-only-one-ascender-for-self-belaying-?ActivityName=Multi-pitch-climbing
